Design Process:
Playing Sudoku for Beginners
With any tutorial or course, I start with the question. "What do I want my learners to know?" and work backwards. All of my work I strive to create relevance for the learner. In this case, I found myself with an abundance of information but really had to step back and look at what do I want the learner to know and focus on those key points.
For this tutorial I started with an formal storyline then worked toward a script. As there is a lot of imagery that needed to be included and created, I did sample mockups of what I wanted the artwork to look like to go with the script.
Here is an example of a storyboard slide.
This also proved to be a great opportunity to learn new techniques in power point and enhance those skills as well.
I used Camtasia for the video editing and power point for the slide deck presentation included in the video.
